Leveraging synergies, pooling and growing competencies—these are the goals of the new partnership established through a sales agreement signed on April 4, 2013, by watch manufacturer Lang & Heyne GmbH and Leinfelder Uhren München GmbH & Co. KG. The two companies have banded together under the umbrella of Tempus Arte GmbH & Co. KG with headquarters in Munich.

For more than a decade, Lang & Heyne has manufactured mechanical watches in a long tradition of fine Saxon craftsmanship. Today, the small manufacture has become synonymous with high-quality watches made in Dresden and is revered by watch collectors around the globe.

In their traditional Munich workshop, Leinfelder Uhren München has devoted their expertise to designing, developing, constructing and manufacturing precious timepieces since 2010. “Thanks to our new partnership, we will collaborate more closely on manufacturing calibers, too,” explains Martin Mandl, designer and CEO at Leinfelder Uhren München.

It was Prof. Dr. Ulrich L. Rohde, owner of the parent company and a passionate watch aficionado himself, who initiated the partnership. Now, these companies pool their competencies as independent subsidiaries under the Tempus Arte GmbH & Co. KG umbrella.

“The new corporate group allows us to leverage and expand synergies between all subsidiaries,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich L. Rohde. “Our goal is to make a name for ourselves in the world as a fine German watch manufacture.”
